Thunder and Roses
I really enjoy Mary Jo Putney’s writing, and I find that the details she includes from her research help to create a rich and believable world. This story features a half Romani hero, and the historical and and cultural details about the Romani people are very interesting.
Same for the mining operation in the story. Schoolmarm Clare is a fun heroine—brave, determined, and spunky—and the romance is super sexy. My favorite moment of the book comes right after Nicholas gets what he most desires—I won’t spoil, but it’s the critical moment of his transformation.
